Can Fifty Bucks Really Buy Happiness?

We were actually a happy family to begin with, but we had a wonderful day yesterday and as Wyatt described, "He was really, really, really happy!" This little wonder of a day however cost us fifty bucks...no, we did not start out intending to spend fifty bucks. So, herein lies the questions, can fifty bucks really buy some happiness? For us, it apparently did!

Addie Grace had a really runny nose and I decided it best to not to infect other children at church. So, what would you do on a beautiful 70 degree sunny day? We went to a late breakfast and off to the zoo. We ate at First Watch, one of our favortie spots. It was a fabulous meal. Both Addie and Wyatt ate a ton and were pleasantly quiet. Lila didn't make a peep the entire time. We sat outside and just enjoyed the scenery. Wyatt pretty much just talked about his "best day ever" meaning right then eating a chocolate chip pancake! Aparently we went to the zoo along with all of St. Louis. We drove around for about 15 minutes looking for parking ending up several times quite a distance from the zoo which prompted Wyatt to keep asking us where the zoo went! Finally, I told David that at times I've seen people park in this dirt between two parking spaces, but it could be risky! We decided we'd try it thinking that neither of us have ever seen tickets being issued at Forest Park! Wrong, we arrived back at the car after a pleasant stroll through the zoo to find a parking ticket on the windshield. Oops! We both agreed it was well worth it.

At home, I watched Juno for the second time...so good! This fun day was only to be followed by an amazing night. Lila slept for over five hours in a row giving me a great span of sleep.

Where this leaves us as the saying goes( I know it's a bit cheesy!)...Breakfast $25, Parking Ticket at the Zoo $25, quite possibly the best 24 hours of my life in a long time...Priceless!

My heart aches a little after reading your post...we would have given anything to be with you at the zoo...especially after chocolate chip pancakes!! I love the family pic and I adore the one of Addie sniffing the daffodil...that is priceless.
